Job Description

Seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a fast-paced litigation practice. Responsibilities include managing case intake and opening procedures, handling state and federal court filings, preparing legal documents such as Tables of Contents and Authorities, assisting with trial preparation, coordinating expert and deposition logistics, tracking critical deadlines, and communicating with clients and insurance carriers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative, high-volume litigation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage case intake, opening procedures, and case organization.
  • Prepare and file pleadings and discovery in California Superior Court and Federal Court.
  • Draft and update Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities.
  • Support trial preparation, including motions in limine and trial documents.
  • Coordinate expert designations, depositions, and trial-related logistics.
  • Maintain calendaring systems and track litigation deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, and attorneys.
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, filing requirements, and case deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of litigation support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal court filing procedures.
  • Experience with calendaring, deadline management, and trial preparation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Appellate experience is a plus.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Hybrid schedule after training: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
  • Potential for an additional remote day
  • Core in-office days: Tuesday-Thursday
